The Good Friday Service

‘Life in the negative space’ – a moving liturgy of reflections on the sufferings and death of Jesus with music, prayer, and times of silence.

We were handed an envelope with beautifully presented cards and a 5 cent coin.

That coin …. a moment before the cross…

we held the coin in the palm of our hands until it was warm and a part of ourselves. We then placed it in a metal pot, to symbolise the placing of ourselves before the cross of Jesus.

Easter Day

The 6am outdoor sunrise service on a mild Sunday morning saw many gather to celebrate Jesus rising from death with the lighting of the new fire. We lit candles and passed the light around.

We celebrated Holy Communion to the accompaniment of kookaburras laughing with pleasure in the gum trees around us. Joy in the risen Christ!

A breakfast of coffee, croissants and hot cross buns followed.

A traditional service at 9am followed in All Hallows’ Church with Easter hymns.
